The Valley of Fire, NV
Valley of Fire is located in the Mojave Desert in the Nevada State Park. It is on the Moapa Indian reservation. This rock formation is called the “Fire Wave”. The sky and light is not fake, not photoshopped. To get this shot, I had to be up by 2:30 in the morning and drive for an hour and half before I got to the reservation. The park opens after sunrise, but obviously by then you would not be able to capture a shot like this. So, I drove in for another 20 minutes to the area where I could park my car, and in the pitch dark I walked another 25 minutes to this spot. There is no real trail there, since it is a desert, hence for someone like me, who had never been there before, it was a small challenge to find my way there in the dark. But it worth it. I just wished I’d have had shared this with my loved ones. The picture is a true representation of the inferno sky that I saw there that morning.
