Hohenschwangau Castle is a 19th-century palace in southern Germany. It is located in the German village of Hohenschwangau near the town of Füssen and at the foothills of Neuschwanstein Castle.
The castle was intended as a home for Ludwig II of Bavaria. Ludwig II only lived in the palace for a total of 172 days, although construction was not completed during those days but years after the king died. The palace also serves as the inspiration for Disneyland's Sleeping Beauty Castle.
